The Mixed Reviews looked back at 2024 to discuss some of their favorite movies of the year. Tune in to find out who received this year’s Beautiful Gowns award

Distant Echoes: A Star Wars Podcast continued their journey through the political thriller Andor, arriving at Episode 5: “The Axe Forgets.” Cass and Tommy discussed their appreciation for the pace of the season so far. Plus, they dropped a bonus episode giving their thoughts on the first season of Skeleton Crew! Up next: more Andor and a very special announcement in their “Beyond the Outer Rim” segment. Stay tuned!

Lee Carvallo’s Podding Challenge hit the green as they broke down the shockingly wonderful Itchy & Scratchy in Minigolf Madness for the Gameboy. And to tee up the conversation, Derek and Tommy dove into the surprisingly subversive history of Minigolf, including its role in desegregating state and national parks!

Walloping Websnappers! wrapped up their coverage of Ultimate Spider-Man Season 1, then swung into action to tackle the newest entry in the animated Spiderverse, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Discussing batches of episodes as they drop, Derek and Doug give their thoughts on this fresh take on everyone’s favorite webslinger.

Novel Gaming! traveled through history and opened up a ghostly rift as they released their first book and game club episodes of the year! Up first, Doug and Katie read 2019’s This is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone. Then, they grabbed their controllers and played “Oxenfree,” a spooky narrative-choice game featuring a group of teens lost on an island. And of course, they discussed everything they’ve been reading, watching, playing, and thinking about, including The Traitors, RuPaul’s Drag Race, Chappel Roan and Beyoncé at the Grammys, and so much more.

Skreeonk! took on America’s second attempt at Godzilla on the big screen in Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla (2014). The duo go in-depth into the US military’s involvement in the writing process, rant about Aaron-Taylor Johnson, and give their thoughts on what makes Universal’s “Monsterverse” work as a cinematic universes.

Fear Coded: A Queer Horror Podcast ended JanTEENuary with everyone’s favorite vampire slayer, Buffy, discussing season 3, episode 6 “Band Candy.” Then, David, Merrilee, and Tyler welcomed voice actor Matt Bartlett onto the show to see if he could help them survive Until Dawn. And in February, the gang headed out to Zombie Island with Scooby himself, but not before asking the question on everyone’s mind while covering Bunnicula: Is it Gay to hunt Vampires?
