Celebrating Anniversaries, Getting Stuck in Time Loops, Going Home, and watching all things Kristen Stewart on Glitterjaw!

Check out what’s happening on all the Glitterjaw pods in our Monthly Round-Up!

Distant Echoes: A Star Wars Podcast celebrated their 4 year poddiversary with their pals and fellow Glitterjaw Podcasters Derek and Doug as they continued to discuss the chaotic and often erotic—if you’re into Hutts and Droids (and who isn’t?)—Star Wars: Droids: The Adventures of R2-D2 and C3PO! And their latest episode featured Hannah Raeside, host of The RaeSide YouTube channel.

Gimmicks got stuck in a time loop as they analyzed Stargate SG-1’s "Window of Opportunity" with the help of Zack Morrison! TV writer, director, and creator of the award-winning comedy pilot Canusa Street, Zack joined Derek and David to discuss his love for Stargate, the Military-Entertainment Complex, the history of time loop stories, and a gimmick episode that gives an incredible amount of depth to its characters while remaining lighthearted.

Walloping Websnappers! wrapped up the month of August and swung into September with four incredible episodes, including a discussion of Scooby-Doo! and the Witch’s Ghost to celebrate host Derek’s Birthday! The two also covered the entire Secret Wars arc as they continue their coverage of Season 5 of Spider-Man: The Animated Series.

Fear Coded: A Queer Horror Podcast left every light in the house on as they played 2013’s Gone Home from The Fullbright Company. Full of so many emotions, this episode is a wonderful in-depth discussion about a queer indie darling of a walking simulator that’s accessible even if you haven’t played the game. Reunite your heart pendants and get your tissues ready for this one.

Skreeonk! discussed the very first collaboration between Toho and American producers in a film that pits Baragon against…Frankenstein? The Skreeonk! guys break down everything you need to know about Frankenstein vs. Baragon (1965) (localized as Frankenstein Conquers the World), including some of the behind the scenes history which might explain why there’s such a tonal shift in the middle of the film. Listeners beware: the episode also features a rendition of “Bunny and Kitty” from The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt that you will absolutely have stuck in your head for days.

The Mixed Reviews covered everything Kristen Stewart in their 151st episode and they brought along host of many a Glitterjaw Podcast Doug along for the ride! Gavin, Louie and Doug tackled everything from Twilight and Snow White and the Huntsman to Camp X-Ray and Love Lies Bleeding, detailing Kristen Stewart’s growth from child star, the media scrutiny around her and her emergence as a queer icon.

Novel Gaming! had a brief discussion about brief games! In their latest episode, Doug and Katie discussed games that clock in under 5 hours, highlighting all the reasons why short games can be so nice and giving a list of some of their favorites. And, on their previous episode, the two discussed the incredible novel Chain-Gang All-Stars by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah.

Lee Carvallo’s Podding Challenge got lost in the nightmare that was Bart’s Nightmare for the SNES and Sega Genesis. A surreal adventure filled with hit-or-miss platforming and action minigames, Bart’s Nightmare was the first Simpsons game not ported backwards to 8-bit systems, so the Carvallo boys took the opportunity to talk a brief history of the 16-bit video game era and the rise of Sega in the home console wars.
